The Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA)  condemns the targeting of Al-Jabalain Hospital

The Sudanese Physicians Association in the United States (SAPA) expressed its deep and strong condemnation of the targeting of Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State, Sudan, in an incident that represents a flagrant violation of all humanitarian values and international norms, resulting in a number of casualties, both dead and wounded.

In a statement, SAPA expressed its full solidarity with the injured and the families of the victims, stressing that the targeting of health facilities is a crime that cannot be justified under any circumstances and undermines humanitarian efforts aimed at saving lives and providing medical care to those in need.

SAPA reiterated that all international laws and conventions clearly state the need to protect health facilities and medical personnel and categorically criminalize attacks on them.

SAPA also calls for a commitment to keep medical facilities and civilians out of the circle of war and to ensure unhindered access to health services in order to preserve innocent lives and human dignity.
