The Forum of Health Ministers in the States: A Step Towards Recovery and Rebuilding

A special meeting was held at the office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, to prepare for the meeting of the Ministers of Health in the states, which will be held at the end of this April in Khartoum, in the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and with the participation of the directors of the Ministry’s public departments.

The meeting addressed the final arrangements and the reports of the committees, where the Undersecretary stressed the importance of good coordination for the success of the forum, which will present the national health strategy and allow for discussions on health issues in the states, as well as finding appropriate solutions to the challenges. He also emphasized the need to identify health gaps in each state and present them during the forum to develop a clear vision for addressing the challenges and rehabilitating health institutions affected by the war.

The Federal Minister of Health praised the efforts of the ministries of health in the states during the previous period, appreciating their roles in facing challenges and taking responsibility, especially in light of the displacement during the war. He pointed out that the current stage is one of health recovery and reconstruction, which enhances the ability of the health system to serve citizens in various states.
