Minawi Donates Chairs and Lighting for the National Theatre to Inaugurate its Operation

Believing in the leading and significant role that theatre plays in people’s lives, and embodying the saying “Give me a theatre, and I will give you a nation,” and fulfilling a promise made by Commander Minni Arko Minawi, Governor of Darfur and head of the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A), and several of his companions to the National Theatre at the end of Ramadan, he pledged to provide the theatre’s chairs and lighting.
Yesterday, April 22nd, Mr. Ahmed Qardiya, on behalf of Commander Minawi, delivered all the pledged items to Dr. Graham Abdel Qader, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and several officials and actors at the National Theatre.
This generous donation has been met with great appreciation in cultural circles and among those interested in theatre.
