Federal Ministry of Health: Completion of preparations for launching the polio outbreak response campaign in 7 states

The Federal Ministry of Health, represented by the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), announced the completion of all preparations for the launch of the polio outbreak response campaign, starting tomorrow, Monday, and continuing for four days in seven states: Khartoum, Gezira , Sennar, White Nile, Kassala, Gadarif, and North Kordofan.

The campaign targets 4,379,512 children from one day old up to five years of age, using a door-to-door strategy.
The federal operations room overseeing the campaign confirmed that all arrangements have been completed, including the provision of necessary supplies (vaccines and health promotion materials) for all states, as well as the deployment of 50 federal supervisors from the Expanded Program on Immunization and the Health Promotion Department to support implementation at the state level.
The operations room also revealed that the campaign will be implemented across 58 localities by 7,333 teams who will visit households in all areas.
It further noted that, in addition to the polio vaccination, a measles and rubella vaccination campaign will be conducted in three localities in North Kordofan State.
The operations room calls on all mothers and guardians to ensure their children are vaccinated during the campaign days, affirming that the vaccine is safe, effective, and provides protection against polio.
