Adoption of 20 April as National Health Day under the slogan “Together Towards a Malaria-Free Sudan”

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, revealed the adoption of April 20 as National Health Day in Sudan, which this year comes under the slogan “Together Towards a Malaria-Free Sudan.”

This announcement was made during the fifth meeting of the Council of the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, held at its office in Khartoum on Thursday. The Council reviewed the monthly performance report of the public administrations for March 2026, presented by Dr. Mughira Al-Amin, Director of the General Directorate of Planning and Policies. Additionally, Dr. Musab Siddique, Director of the General Directorate of Basic Health Care, presented the community health strategy. Dr. Amal Abdo, Director of the General Directorate of Human and Health Resources, presented a report on the preparations for
the joint coordination meeting between the Federal Ministry and the Directors General of the Ministries of Health in the states.

The Council discussed the latest arrangements for the launch of National Health Day, to be held on April 20, 2026, stressing that this step comes within the framework of strengthening coordination between departments and states, and following up on periodic performance to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of health policies.
