UNICEF and IGAD Discuss Coordinating Humanitarian Corridors in Sudan

A meeting held today (Monday) in Djibouti between the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and UNICEF discussed the importance of strengthening humanitarian diplomacy efforts among countries in the region and activating the role of humanitarian organizations in providing aid to those in need.

The meeting, which brought together IGAD Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu and UNICEF Regional Director Etila Kadeli, addressed the importance of considering the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors in Sudan to ensure the delivery of life-saving aid.

The meeting also discussed deepening cooperation in the area of ​​climate change adaptation and rapid response to disease outbreaks and the challenges facing children in the region.
