UN Launches $2.9 Billion Plan to Help Over 20 Million Sudanese in 2026

The United Nations has launched a new humanitarian plan to support Sudan during 2026, aiming to provide vital assistance to approximately 20.4 million people, at a total estimated cost of $2.9 billion.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated in an official statement that the international humanitarian community has launched the 2026 Sudan Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan, calling for urgent funding to ensure access to life-saving assistance for millions of affected people.

The plan focuses on providing food, healthcare, clean water, shelter, and protection, as the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate and needs expand in several states across the country.
