SDG21 Billion Allocated to Support University Staff

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ahmed Madawi Musa, announced the allocation of 21 billion Sudanese pounds to improve the working conditions of employees in government higher education institutions. This includes faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative and technical staff, in addition to covering operational expenses and training programs.
During his chairmanship of the meeting dedicated to distributing the support, the Minister explained that the funds allocated for employee compensation will be directly deposited into university accounts to ensure swift implementation and achieve the desired impact on the academic work environment.
For her part, Manal Ahmed Al-Sayed, Director of the Finance Department at the Ministry of Higher Education, confirmed the allocation of at least 11.9 billion Sudanese pounds to support professors’ salaries. This step aims to enhance job stability and improve the living conditions of those working in the higher education sector.
This support comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen higher education institutions and raise their efficiency in light of the economic challenges facing the country.
