Prof. Mudawi: The Ministry of Finance allocates EGP 21 billion to support government higher education institutions

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Mousa, affirmed the Ministry’s serious endeavor to improve the conditions of faculty members and auxiliary staff in a way that befits the significant roles they play in regularizing the teaching process and maintaining the quality of academic performance. He stressed the continuation of efforts to improve the wages and structures that are appropriate for university professors.
This statement was made when he chaired a meeting this afternoon on the distribution of support provided by the Ministry of Finance to higher education institutions, in the presence of the directors of public universities in the Ministry’s meeting hall in the Minerals Tower in Khartoum, via Zoom.
The Minister affirmed the appreciation of the state leadership for university professors and their roles, as well as their continuous praise for higher education institutions.
The Minister pointed out that the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has responded immediately to the approval of the budget for the year 2026 and has increased the necessary support to universities by allocating an amount of EGP 21 billion to meet the cost of improving the service conditions of employees in government institutions, faculty members, teaching assistants, and other cadres, as well as to cover expenses, management, and training.
Manal Ahmed Al-Sayed, Director of the General Administration of Finance and a member of the Committee for the Distribution of Government Subsidies, pointed out that at least EGP 11.9 billion has been allocated to support the salaries of teachers.
