NSWF Honors Families of Martyrs and Missing Persons, Announces Support Programs
National Students Welfare Fund (NSWF) honored the families of its martyrs and missing persons at a ceremony organized by the Fund’s Employees’ Sub-Committee, under the patronage of the Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed Hamza Al-Amin Al-Mahi.
The Fund announced programs to support and care for the families of martyrs, including providing assistance and income-generating projects to help them meet the demands of life.
The Secretary-General of the NSWF, Dr. Ahmed Hamza Al-Amin Al-Mahi, offered condolences for the souls of Sudan’s martyrs, specifically mentioning the martyrs of the Fund.
He emphasized that the martyrs sacrificed their lives for the nation so that the people of Sudan could live in security and stability. He stated that the martyrs hold a high position with God, and that it is the duty of the living to honor them and stand by their families. He added that despite the immense damage caused by the war, God Almighty holds much good for the people of Sudan.
He pointed out that Ramadan is a month of victories, citing the recent battlefield triumphs, including the liberation of the city of Bara, and expressed his optimism that Kordofan would soon be free of rebels.
The Secretary-General commended the Fund’s sub-committee for its initiative in honoring the families of martyrs and missing persons, considering it the beginning of ongoing communication between the Fund and the families of martyrs. He affirmed that the NSWF will give special attention to the families of its martyrs by providing the necessary support and care, and working to provide resources and productive projects that help these families meet the demands of life, with projects designed to suit the circumstances of each family.
For his part, Major General (Rtd) Al-Hadi Kabbashi, the media officer of the Social Solidarity Fund for Retired General Intelligence Service Personnel, addressed the greatness of martyrdom in his speech, calling on the families of martyrs and missing persons to be patient and seek reward from God.
He emphasized that the reward for patience is Paradise, and said that the war was a difficult ordeal in which Sudanese people lost loved ones, friends, and relatives. However, the blood of the martyrs and the steadfastness of the men were the reasons for the country’s resilience. Kabbashi pointed out that the progress achieved on the ground and the withdrawal of militias from a number of states, such as Sennar, Gezira, and Khartoum, represent the fruits of the martyrs’ sacrifices. He affirmed that operations will continue until the remaining areas are cleared, and expressed his hope that other institutions will follow the example of the NSWF in caring for the families of martyrs and missing persons.
For his part, Ali Al-Amin Banaqa, head of the NSWF’s sub-committee for employees, explained that honoring the families of martyrs and missing persons is a tribute to their sacrifices and a reaffirmation that their blood will not be shed in vain.
He revealed statistics on the number of martyrs and missing persons affiliated with the NSWF, stating that the number of martyrs reached 20, in addition to 5 missing persons, distributed across the states in varying proportions.
Banaqa confirmed that the sub-committee will provide financial support to the families of martyrs as part of this initiative, while the Fund will work to launch income-generating projects for these families to help them cope with the burdens of life. He also pledged, as a representative of the employees and union members, not to forget the families of the martyrs, calling on the Fund’s secretaries in the states to provide them with full care and attention.
Walaa Hamad Al-Nil Saleh, representative of the families of the martyrs, expressed her appreciation for this initiative, stressing that the families’ consolation in losing their sons is that they attained the honor of martyrdom. She said that the support of the NSWF for the families of the martyrs reinforces their feeling that their sons are still present among them, citing what the Holy Quran promised of a great status for the martyrs.
