From Abuda, a refugee camp in eastern Sudan, to a small apartment in Geneva—this is the expanse of a woman’s journey. Within her, she carries the memory of loss. Noreit, who comes from the borderlands of Eritrea, was raised on fear and the rituals of survival—until she woke one evening in a city that did not resemble her. Soon after, she slips into a long, inexplicable coma.. As physcians attempt to unravel the mystery of her silence, distant lives emerge from her depths: a wasted childhood, a fragile femininity, and an exile that sways between salvation and erasure.

About the Author

AbdelRazig Karar Osman is an Australian writer and journalist of Eritrean origin. He lived in Sudan, where he earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Khartoum, before immigrating to Australia. There, he completed a second Master’s degree in Globalization and a Ph.D. in Interational Relations. . His work focuses on issues of democracy and Good Governance
