New Directions for the Direct Cash Support Program for Needy Families

The Director General of the Ministry of Social Development in Khartoum State, Siddiq Hassan Freini, chaired a periodic meeting this morning to follow up on the progress of the Direct Cash Support Program for Needy Families in the municipalities. He listened to detailed reports from the social development managers in the municipalities regarding all the challenges and problems facing the progress of the program in each locality, as well as the status of disbursing the third and fourth installments for the year 2025, in addition to the status of disbursing the new targeting in the municipalities for the same year.

The meeting aimed to follow up on the progress of work, solve problems, inform beneficiaries, and identify centers for the immediate start of cash disbursement before the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

The meeting stressed the need to take advantage of the available banking applications and banking services recently launched by the Ministry of Digital Transformation to alleviate the suffering of beneficiaries

The Director of the General Directorate of Development and Poverty Alleviation explained that the total targeting of the third and fourth batches for the year 2025 amounted to 8,000 beneficiaries, of which 1,860 beneficiaries did not receive disbursements due to reasons related to the movement of beneficiaries between the administrative units in the same locality and other technical reasons related to the neighborhood callers. Meanwhile, the new targeting in the localities amounted to 35,463, of which 14,293 could not be disbursed for the same reasons.
