Minnawi Discusses humanitarian situation in Darfur and the efforts underway to achieve security and stability with Sudanese Ambassador to Switzerland

During his tour with his accompanying delegation, Darfur Governor and leader of the Sudan Liberation Army Movement, Commander Minni Arko Min awi, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Switzerland, Mr. Hassan Hamid, in the presence of Consul Mr. Mohamed Hamad.
The meeting, held in Zurich, Switzerland, addressed several issues, most notably the evolving humanitarian situation in Darfur and the efforts underway to achieve security and stability. The meeting also discussed the situation of the Sudanese community in Switzerland and ways to facilitate and address the issues they face, such as streamlining consular services and residency problems. The importance of strengthening ties between the community and the diplomatic mission to foster connections among Sudanese citizens was also emphasized.
The Governor presented an overview of the challenges facing citizens in Darfur as a result of the war, stressing the importance of intensifying official efforts to address the overall situation, particularly the humanitarian crisis, and to support the paths to stability and peace. Sudan’s Ambassador Hassan Hamid stressed the diplomatic mission’s commitment to fulfilling its role in protecting the interests of Sudanese abroad and working to address their issues in coordination with the relevant authorities, praising the efforts of the Darfur Regional Government in supporting stability.
