Minister of Health follows up on the arrangements of the Prime Minister’s initiative for a malaria-free Sudan

The Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, chaired an important meeting in his office , in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, with the participation of the Director of the General Directorate of Primary Health Care, Dr. Musab Siddique, along with representatives from the Health Emergencies, Vector Control, the World Health Organization, and Dr. Fateh Malik, a malaria expert and head of the program review committees with Global Fund .
The meeting discussed the arrangements for the initiative of the Prime Minister, Prof. Kamel Idris, aimed at strengthening scientific and practical interventions to make Sudan malaria-free. The meeting also discussed the preparation of plans through experts, and administrative and technical arrangements that enable malaria management to perform its tasks efficiently, while optimizing the use of available resources and supervision at the federal and state levels through multiple partnerships, the meeting also discussed the preliminary results of the periodic review of the malaria program in Sudan, which is one of the requirements of the global support grant.
A report was presented by the chairman of the technical committee, and the success of the initiative was emphasized through the formation of a multi-sectoral higher committee that includes the relevant sectors, in addition to a technical committee at the level of the Ministry, medical supplies, and the National Public Health laboratory, to follow up on the practical arrangements periodically.
