Major Agreement Paves the Way for Significant Development in Sudan’s Electric Vehicle Industry

Nile Petroleum Company (NPC), a leading fuel distribution company, signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Giad Engineering Industries Group. This move aims to support the infrastructure for electric vehicles and promote sustainable energy solutions in Sudan.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both sides, who emphasized that this partnership aligns with the global shift towards clean energy and reduces reliance on traditional fuels amidst current economic challenges.

Infrastructure and Electric Vehicles 2026

The memorandum focuses on establishing and developing a network of electric vehicle charging stations and integrating them with Nile Petroleum Company’s existing distribution stations.

This step is of paramount importance, coinciding with Giad Group’s announcement of launching the first electric vehicle production project in Sudan during the first quarter of 2026 in partnership with specialized Chinese companies. This necessitates the provision of a robust service base and infrastructure to accommodate this qualitative shift in the transportation sector. Localizing Technologies and Supporting the National Economy

This partnership is a cornerstone for localizing modern technologies in Sudan and creating new job opportunities in sustainable transport supply chains.

The Nile Petroleum Company affirmed its commitment to playing a leading role in balancing market needs between traditional energy and environmentally friendly solutions. The two parties are expected to announce soon the timelines and proposed locations for launching the first charging stations, which will contribute to a qualitative leap in the national energy system.
