Urgent health interventions for more than 34,000 expatriates in Khartoum

The Director General of the Ministry of Social Development in Khartoum State, Siddiq Freni, directed the Health Insurance Authority to conduct urgent health interventions for expatriates from war-affected states to Khartoum State. This directive came during his chairmanship of the first meeting of the Committee for the Provision of Humanitarian Aid and Required Services for Expatriates from War-Affected States for Khartoum State, which was issued by Resolution No. 2 of 2026 by the Secretary-General of the Government of Khartoum State, based on the outputs of the Supreme Committee for Emergency and Crisis Management No. 105. The war-affected states of Khartoum State will be addressed through the Ministry of Service Mechanisms.

The rapporteur of the committee, Khaled Abdel Rahim, indicated that there are more than 34,000 expatriates from the states of Greater Darfur and Greater Kordofan in the state of Khartoum, and the committee includes in its
membership the executive directors of the municipalities and representatives of the ministries of education, culture and information, in addition to the Red Crescent Society of the Khartoum State Branch.
