The Technical Committee for the Prevention of Illegal Collection inspects collection points on the Port Sudan-Suakin road

The Technical Committee for the Prevention of Illegal Collection, headed by Maulana Mohammad Haj Adam Hassan Al-Tahir and the members of the committee, inspected the collection points on the national road from Port Sudan to Suakin yesterday.

Maulana Mohammad Haj Adam explained that the committee visited all the points on the national road up to Suakin, examined the collection procedures followed, and took the necessary notes, in addition to issuing immediate directives to address the observations.

He pointed out that the committee reviewed the scale of trucks in Suakin, where it received a number of observations from truck owners related to the slow procedures resulting from the large number of vehicles, as well as the presence of only one scale and limited space, which affects the movement of vehicles and the flow of traffic on the road.

He added that one of the most prominent directives issued by the committee is the need for the owner of the vehicle to have all the information related to the weighing process, including the weight of the vehicle and the value of the violation, if any.

The Chairman of the Committee pointed out that there are observations related to the calibration of the scale and that it is necessary to hold a meeting with the competent department to address the calibration in order to ensure its accuracy, preserve the state’s resources, and at the same time protect the rights of vehicle owners.

Maulana Mohammad Haj Adam Hassan Al-Tahir appealed to vehicle owners and all those on the National Road to commit to paying the fees due to them and to ensure that they receive the payment receipt, whether it is electronic or Ornik 15 paper, indicating that the receipt is considered a disclaimer, preserves the rights of the citizen, and contributes to the protection of the state’s financial resources.
