SSMO: Continuing the “Towards a Safe Consumer in Ramadan” Campaign in National Media Partnership

The Director General of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), Rahba Saeed, confirmed the continuation of awareness and guidance programs throughout the holy month, reinforcing the organization’s role in consumer protection and establishing a culture of adherence to standards.
She explained that the campaign is proceeding according to a comprehensive media plan aimed at raising consumer awareness of their rights and responsibilities, promoting rational purchasing behavior, and focusing on the safety of food products and their compliance with standard requirements. This contributes to protecting public health and supporting market stability during the Ramadan season.
The Director General expressed her deep appreciation for the cooperation of national media outlets in the campaign’s success, commending the effective partnership with Sudan TV, Omdurman Radio, Khartoum Radio, Biladi Radio, and the Armed Forces Radio, in addition to state-level radio stations, for their professional support in broadcasting the organization’s media message.
She emphasized that this media collaboration reflects a shared national responsibility to promote a culture of standardization and metrology, solidify the concepts of quality and safety, and enhance consumer confidence in goods and services.
She affirmed the continuation of the regulatory and awareness efforts of the authority, in coordination with relevant entities, to achieve the campaign’s slogan: “Towards a Safe Consumer in Ramadan.”
