Justice Minister Discusses Judicial Cooperation with His Malian Counterpart

On the sidelines of his participation in the 61st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Dirif discussed with his Malian counterpart, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Mr. Mamadou Massouki, opportunities for cooperation and coordination between the two countries in international forums, particularly in the areas of human rights and legal and judicial cooperation. This discussion took place within the framework of the developing fraternal relations between the two countries.
Also present were the Minister of State at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Dr. Salma Ishaq Al-Khalifa, and representatives of both countries’ delegations and missions in Geneva.
Sudan News Agency reported that the Minister of Justice provided an overview of the situation in the country and human rights issues, particularly the judicial efforts aimed at establishing justice, the rule of law, accountability, preventing impunity, protecting civilians, and addressing violations of human rights and international humanitarian law. The government’s efforts in the field of peace were also reviewed, including the implementation of the roadmap for managing the transitional period and the Government of Hope for Peace initiative.
For his part, the Malian Minister of Justice welcomed the multifaceted relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, and emphasized the importance of Sudan’s central position within its African context. He stressed his country’s commitment to Sudan’s stability and reiterated his country’s support for Sudan’s unity and sovereignty over its territory.
