First UN Plane Lands at Khartoum International Airport Since the Outbreak of War

The Director of Sudan Airports Company, Sir Al-Khatim Babiker, revealed that a World Food Programme plane landed yesterday at Khartoum International Airport carrying passengers. He noted that this was the first UN plane to land at the airport since the outbreak of war in Sudan in mid-April 2023.
This development is considered an indication of the resumption of UN operations at Khartoum Airport after a hiatus of nearly three years, amidst complex security conditions and a worsening humanitarian situation.
