The Committee for Supporting Small and Family Projects discusses microfinance issues with the Sudanese General Federation of Employers
A coordination meeting was held, bringing together the Committee for Supporting Small and Family Projects, the Sudanese General Federation of Employers, and related institutions. The meeting, chaired by Siddiq Hassan Ferini, Director General of the Ministry of Social Development, the Minister-in-Charge, and Head of the Committee for Small and Family Projects, discussed microfinance issues and how to implement future projects.
The meeting reviewed the committee’s plan, highlighting its key features: providing job opportunities for families, youth, and economically active individuals; enhancing capabilities and providing training; and achieving social and economic stability for the Khartoum State community.
The plan aims to provide families with economically viable projects that have a social impact. Attendees emphasized the importance of coordination between funding agencies, the Federation of Employers, and beneficiaries to encourage local production.
They stressed the need for incentive policies and practical mechanisms to unify the vision and achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency. Mr. Farini emphasized the necessity of creating a social and investment map for all producers. Several projects were identified, and the plan was discussed at length. The meeting concluded with several guidelines and outcomes.
The Employers’ Union congratulated them on their return to their headquarters, noting that the coordination meeting aims to revitalize the institutions and emphasizing that the Higher Committee for Creating a Suitable Environment for the Return of Citizens to the State is a rare opportunity to benefit from federal expertise in supporting the state, and we see the impact of this in the lives of citizens day after day. His Excellency also stressed the importance of close coordination between the relevant authorities and directed the Union to write a memorandum to address the financing costs and submit it to the Central Bank of Sudan and to form a tripartite committee from the Ministries of Social Development and Industry and the Employers’ Union.
In the same context, he welcomed Jamal Musa, Treasurer of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and representative of the Sudanese Workers’ Union, addressed the Minister on behalf of the attendees, speaking about the Federation, its establishment, and its general and specific technical and training objectives. He emphasized that human resources are the foundation of development and affirmed the Federation’s readiness to contribute to projects aimed at creating an environment conducive to the return of citizens to the state. The meeting agreed on the importance of practical and theoretical training for the rehabilitation and training of graduates and workers, disseminating awareness messages through the media about financing and promoting a culture of self-employment, the necessity of utilizing insurance companies, focusing on manufacturing industries, and ensuring that the Federation’s work aligns with state policies aimed at providing financing for all citizens, revitalizing the industrial and commercial sectors, and learning from the experiences of neighboring countries.
