Sudan Thanks IGAD

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement welcoming the positive statement issued yesterday, January 29, 2026, by the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). In the statement, the organization, through its Executive Secretary, condemned all forms of violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia and affirmed its full support for the unity and sovereignty of Sudan and its existing national institutions.

The Government of the Republic of Sudan expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the valuable efforts of His Excellency President Ismail Omar Guelleh, the current Chairperson of IGAD. It also expressed its thanks to the Executive Secretary of the organization.
