Ministers of Minerals, Industry and Trade Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Mining Industries

The Minister of Minerals, Nour El-Daem Taha, received the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mahasin Yaqoub, at his office today. They held an extensive meeting to discuss the importance of strengthening joint coordination between the two ministries in the fields of industry and trade, and increasing access to foreign gold markets.

Nour indicated that the meeting discussed the process of localizing mining industries, particularly iron, copper, and lead industries, in addition to the need to unify and coordinate the work of the relevant technical committees and activate them.

The Minister, for her part, pointed to the Ministry’s 2026 strategy aimed at reorganizing traditional mining, which necessitates coordination regarding the import of chemicals and materials used in mining operations, and the need for strict oversight and control to ensure transparency in production and knowledge of its true scale.

The meeting also discussed ways to expand gold export revenues and maximize the economic benefits from the mining sector.
