Minister of Education Meets the White Nile State Governor

The Minister of Education and National Education, Dr. Al-Tohamy Al-Zein Hajar, met in his office in Omdurman today with the Governor of White Nile State, Lieutenant General Qamar Al-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Khalifa Omar, Undersecretary of the Ministry, and Dr. Al-Tayeb Ali Issa, Minister of Education in the state.

The meeting discussed the problems and challenges facing the educational process in the state, and the minister listened to an explanation about the challenges in the session tracks, the textbooks, the shortage of teachers, and the school environment.

Al-Tohamy stressed his support for all states that were affected by the war, pointing out that White Nile State hosted a number of students coming from the states of Kordofan and Darfur, praising the efforts made by the governor and members of his government to stabilize the educational process.

The governor explained that the education sector is one of the sectors most affected by the war, pointing out that the militia has destroyed most of the educational institutions and stated that the state has hosted more than three million expatriates.

The governor stressed the stability of education in the state after the recovery witnessed in the country and noted that the academic year began in the state on August 25, pointing to the urgent need to fill the shortage of teachers, especially in remote areas.
