Khartoum Health Ministry and WHO Discuss Strengthening Winter Emergency Interventions

The Khartoum State Ministry of Health met today with the World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss ways to strengthen and support winter emergency interventions in the state. The meeting was held at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Taha Al-Musallami Al-Kabashi, Acting Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health. The WHO delegation included Dr. Khalid Surur and Dr. Khalid Mohammed Awad Al-Karim.
Several department directors from the Ministry also participated, including Dr. Mohammed Hassan Omar, Director General of Preventive Medicine; Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Abu Al-Joud, Director General of Emergency and Epidemic Control; Dr. Hassan Bashir, Director General of Health Promotion; and Dr. Fatima Abdul-Rahim, Director of the Organizations and Partnerships Department.
The meeting discussed preparations for winter emergencies, the disease vector control program, particularly for malaria, as well as environmental health issues, epidemiological surveillance, and support for various health promotion packages and programs.
