Freini discusses microfinance issues with the Sudanese Employers’ General Union

The coordination meeting, which included the Small and Family Enterprises Support Committee, the Sudanese Employers’ General Federation, and related institutions, discussed microfinance issues and how to implement future projects. The meeting was chaired by Siddiq Hassan Farini, Director General of the Ministry of Social Development, the Acting Minister, and the Chairman of the Small and Family Projects Committee.

The meeting reviewed the committee’s plan, and its most prominent features are the provision of job opportunities for families, youth, and economic activists, raising capacities and training in order to achieve social and economic stability for the Khartoum State community, and to grant families projects with economic feasibility and social impact.

The attendees also focused on the importance of coordination between the financing entities, the Employers’ Union, and the beneficiaries, to ensure effective collaboration.

Freini stressed the need to create a social and investment map for all producers. Several projects were named, and there was an extensive discussion about the plan. The meeting resulted in several directions and outputs.

He emphasized the importance of tight coordination between the relevant authorities and directed the Federation to write a memorandum addressing the financing costs and submit it to the Central Bank of Sudan. Additionally, he called for the formation of a tripartite committee comprising the Ministries of Social Development and Industry, as well as the Employers’ Union.
