Exemption of IDPs from Fees for Obtaining Lost National Numbers

The Citizen/

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Mutasem Ahmed Saleh, announced the exemption of IDPs from the fees for extracting lost national numbers. He said on his Facebook page today (Wednesday), after a meeting with the Minister of Interior, that field teams from the General Directorate of Civil Registry will start in the coming days to extract the missing national numbers of the displaced people from the Al-Afad camp in the northern state, followed by the same step in the states hosting the IDPs.

Saleh revealed an agreement with the Minister of Interior under which an administrative certificate issued by the competent authorities in shelters and sites approved to host IDPs will be recognized, according to which the status of displacement will be proven as a supporting document (to ensure that the exemption reaches those who are entitled to it).

He said that the step confirms the state’s understanding of the situation of displacement, as well as enabling the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare to take ownership of livelihood projects for the displaced and benefit from the protection and social support programs provided by the ministry to the displaced through its units.
