Egyptian Foreign Minister Makes Strong Statements About Sudan

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty affirmed that Egypt is severely harmed by the ongoing Sudanese crisis, noting that it directly impacts Egyptian national security.
In a joint press conference, Thursday, with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Abdel-Aty stated: “We have red lines in Sudan. We reject any attempt to divide it and will not accept this, nor the collapse of the Sudanese state. Egypt will not accept any parallel entities within Sudan, and we recognize only the legitimate Sudanese government and its national institutions, foremost among them the Sudanese Armed Forces.”
The minister stressed that Sudan’s security and stability are integral to Egypt’s security and stability, and that Egypt will not accept any infringement upon Sudanese national security. He added, “We cannot equate the Sudanese Armed Forces with any other armed entities.”
