Darfur Diaspora Association Group in the UK: International Silence Fuels the Darfur Genocide
Darfur Diaspora Association Group in the UK called on the international community, the United Nations, the Security Council, the African Union, and all human rights organizations to take urgent and effective measures to protect civilians and stop militia crimes against civilians.
In a statement issued today, Monday, the association demanded independent international investigations to hold those responsible for these crimes and their supporters accountable.
The association considered the international silence regarding these crimes to be indirect complicity, giving the perpetrators a green light to continue killing innocent people.
The statement said that after implementing its plan in El Fasher, the militia moved westward to complete its genocidal scheme, where the areas of Kalbus, Karnoi, Amro, and Abu Qumra witnessed systematic killings targeting dozens of innocent, unarmed civilians based on their ethnicity.
The statement added that the area of Jirjira also witnessed a new crime yesterday, in which 30 civilians, including children and women, were killed, in a clear continuation of the policy of mass killing and ethnic cleansing.
The Group noted that it is closely monitoring these dangerous developments and is working to inform international and regional human rights organizations and international lawyers of all developments related to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Sudan, in order to hold the perpetrators accountable and ensure they do not escape punishment.
The Group pointed out that the militia had previously committed crimes in El Fasher amounting to genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, resulting in the deaths of more than 75,000 civilians, while approximately 150,000 people remain missing. This occurred after the militia seized control of the city and subjected it to complete pillaging based on narrow ethnic and regional affiliations.
