The launch of the annual planning evaluation meeting for nutrition managers in the states for 2025

The activities of the annual planning evaluation meeting for nutrition managers in the states for 2025-2026 were launched this morning at the Al-Rih Al-Tarifi Hall in Kassala State, under the slogan “Stronger Data – Better Decisions – Sustainable Nutrition Services,” and will continue until December 20.
In his recorded speech, the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that the National Nutrition Program bears a primary responsibility in promoting and protecting the nutritional situation through comprehensive interventions that reflect a clear vision of a Sudan where everyone enjoys optimal nutrition and good health. He noted that the Ministry is working through the program to integrate nutrition as a key element in the humanitarian response and in the national nutrition policies and various programs of the Ministry.
The Minister stressed that partnerships are a key pillar to face the challenges, which are increasing year by year, appreciating the roles of partners from UNICEF, World Health, the World Food Programme and other international and national non-governmental organizations.
The Director of the General Directorate of Basic Health Care, Dr. Musab Siddique, noted the great commitment of the employees of the nutrition program in the federation, the states and the United Nations agencies.
The Director of the National Nutrition Program, Salwa Sorkati, pointed out that many achievements have been achieved during 2025, including reaching a large number of malnourished children, treating them, providing a healthy environment, and nutrition campaigns, especially the distribution of vitamin A, Bendazole pills, and others.
Ismail Al-Adani, Acting Director of Maternal and Child Health, considered the meeting held in the presence of all states, including North Darfur, as a historic moment that needs to be documented, noting that the nutrition program represents the cornerstone of health interventions, and during the war, it achieved breakthroughs.
The Director of the Health Promotion Department, Dr. Naha Salheen, indicated that her department is ready to support the nutrition program to reach the lofty goal of zero children suffering from malnutrition, pointing to the achievements made by the nutrition program, with the commitment of the minister to support all preventive and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
The opening was addressed by a number of representatives of organizations, UNICEF, World Health, the World Food Program, and the Coordinator of the Nutrition Sector, who unanimously agreed on the importance of the meeting and continued support.
