In coordination with the Federal and State Ministry of Health, and in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Sudan, SAPA is launching an integrated project to strengthen health services in the states of Khartoum, Kassala, and Gedaref. The project is funded by the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) and British Aid (FDCO).
The project aims to support the continuity of care in facilities that thousands of families rely on, at a time when the need for stable and safe health services is increasing.
The project focuses on rehabilitating damaged infrastructure, providing and maintaining medical devices, maintaining and expanding oxygen stations, and improving the electricity supply through solar power plants to ensure uninterrupted service continuity. The project also includes training medical staff to raise the quality of health care.
As part of this project, SAPA signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health in Gedaref to start implementation in the state, which is estimated to have more than 85,000 beneficiaries. The work includes supporting Gedaref Teaching Hospital, the Children’s Hospital, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Al-Malik Health Center, and Karri Health Center.
This step represents the restoration of hope through sustainable rehabilitation and the stabilization of health services in the country.
