Minister of Health Meets Iranian Ambassador to Sudan

The Federal Minister of Health, B. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met with the Ambassador of the State of Iran to Sudan, Hassan Shah Hussein, in the presence of the Acting Undersecretary, Dr. Khalil Mohamed Ibrahim, and Dr. Abdel Moneim El-Tayeb, Director General of the National Center for Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

The meeting addressed a number of health-related issues, during which the minister revealed Iran’s desire to support and rehabilitate the health sector in the next phase and participate in reconstruction efforts, especially in the field of medicines.

It was agreed to coordinate the signing of a joint agreement between the National Council for Drugs and Poisons and the Iranian Food and Drug Corporation, which includes support from the Council, national manufacturing, and imports, in addition to opening wider opportunities for training and exchange of experiences in the field of organ transplantation, especially liver transplantation, as well as oncology treatment.

The minister explained that a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the two countries, including mutual visits to benefit from the health development in Iran, in addition to supporting medical education, training in rare specialties, and joint work in various fields of health.
