Army Regains Control of Strategic Area
The Sudanese Armed Forces have regained control of the strategic village of Alouba, located in the Al-Rahad locality of North Kordofan State, southeast of El Obeid, on the vital road linking the north and south of the state, following fierce battles with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Field sources reported that the area witnessed intense clashes that resulted in heavy losses of life and equipment for the RSF, forcing them to retreat to areas under their control. The sources confirmed that the Armed Forces established full control over the town after well-executed military operations from several axes, leading to the collapse of the militia’s front lines.
The sources indicated that the rapid advance disrupted the RSF’s ranks and deprived them of their ability to resist, prompting their members to withdraw towards the Al-Hamadi and Al-Dubaibat areas. During the operation, the army also recaptured several sites that the militia had been using as supply depots and observation posts.
Following the capture of Al-Ula, the armed forces launched extensive clearing and securing operations, encompassing residential areas and connecting roads, to secure the region and prevent any infiltration attempts or counterattacks. Sources confirmed that clearing operations are ongoing on the road linking the northern part of El Obeid to Dilling, a city that has been under a tight siege for over two years.
The sources indicated that the coming days will witness new military operations on several fronts, aimed at retaking more areas from the Rapid Support Forces militia, as part of expanding control and strengthening supply lines.
In a related development, military sources reported that the Sudanese Air Force neutralized a man named Alian, one of the most prominent commanders of Group 145, affiliated with Habib Herika, after targeting him with a drone in the Borno area, northwest of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State.
This development on the ground represents a significant blow to the Rapid Support Forces militia’s movements in the Kordofan region and reinforces the armed forces’ advance and control over strategic areas in the region.
