Abdel Qader Salem… The Voice of Peace that Immortalized Kordofan and Departed

, Sudan has lost one of its artistic and cultural pillars and a symbol of unity and peace. He was a voice that resounded with love, called for harmony, and embodied the heritage of Kordofan in the best possible way until he became an ambassador of Sudanese song in regional and international forums.

Abdel Qader Salem: The Artist of Peace and Unity

Salem was known as the Artist of Peace because he carried messages of love and tolerance in his songs and made art a means of bringing people together. He was also an artist of unity, as he embodied in his works the spirit of One Sudan, combining its cultural, linguistic, and musical diversity.

An Immortal Artistic Legacy

Among his most prominent songs that have been immortalized by time are “Maktool Hawak Ya Kordofan,” “Lemon Bara,” and other masterpieces of Sudanese song. He was able to transform the herritage of Kordofan into an artistic icon, carrying it from local to global, becoming a symbol of the authentic Sudanese identity.

Researcher and intellectual, Abdel Qader Salem was not just a singer but also a researcher in heritage. Holding a doctorate degree and believing that art is a cultural and knowledge message, he was born in 1943 in the city of Bara. He graduated from the Teachers’ Institute in Dilling in the late sixties, beginning a long journey of artistic and academic giving.

The Last Farewell
He passed away after a struggle with illness, leaving behind an indelible artistic and humanitarian legacy. He departed, carrying in his voice an immortal call
