A speech by Minni Arko Minnawi on the Day of the People’s Stand, December 13, 2025

O noble Sudanese people,

The forces of evil have imposed upon you a battle in which you have no stake, and you have been the defenders of your dignity, your land, and your history, with unwavering courage and determination.

O great Sudanese people, today you are at the forefront of the Third World in defining democracy and managing pluralism and diversity, and in a great humanitarian struggle that reflects all human values. You have become masters in your fields, leaders in various sectors, from doctors to merchants, from thinkers to writers, and your people are the ones who have forged the glories of nations.

Today, in order to end this unjust war that has been imposed upon us, we must commit to the following:

A- Returning control of the situation to the people of Sudan by completely removing the UAE’s hand and ending its presence on our land, in our airspace, and in our territorial waters.

B. Expel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) elements from residential areas, schools, hospitals, and public facilities, and clear the main roads leading to cities, markets, and kindergartens, so that life can return to normal.

C. Return control of international border crossings, borders, and airports to the legitimate authority to prevent any breach or violation of Sudanese sovereignty.

D. Release all abductees and reopen RSF prisons to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to guarantee the rights of detainees.

E. Sever all ties with mercenaries brought in by foreign or domestic countries.

F. Gather Sudanese fighters in designated locations to arrange for a ceasefire and create an opportunity for peace.

N. Hold accountable all those who committed genocide, foremost among them the RSF leadership (the so-called founding members), and all those who had a hand in the destruction of Sudan.

People of Sudan, with these steps, we will rebuild our nation on solid foundations and open the door to dialogue with all those who have shared interests with Sudan, in an environment of mutual respect, where there is no room for exploiting our will.
