UN Under-Secretary-General: “El Fasher has become a crime scene, and no one will escape punishment.”

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fischer, confirmed that El Fasher has become a crime scene since the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control. Fischer stated that during his visit to El Fasher, he heard harrowing accounts from displaced people, which he described as a grave danger.

He added, “I spoke with the RSF commanders, and I told them that protecting civilians is our goal. No one will escape punishment.”

The Under-Secretary-General vowed that no atrocities would occur in the future and that the people of El Fasher have a great need for support.
