The Federal Emergency Operations Center reviews the health situation in Sudan

The Federal Emergency Operations Center reviewed the health conditions in the country during the week of November 8-15, and the activities and interventions implemented by the Federal Ministry of Health’s departments.

The surveillance and information report confirmed a decrease in the incidence of cholera, dengue fever, and malaria, with 61 cases of cholera from 6 states, while dengue fever recorded 2094 infections from 11 states. He pointed out that 110 cases of hepatitis C are associated with the lack of water and sanitation services.

The response report noted the continuation of activities in the states registered for cholera infections, and the provision of an isolation center in each state, in addition to 4 dengue isolation centers with the support of the World Health Organization.

In addition, the report of the Environmental Health and Food Control referred to activities, including campaigns to combat disease vectors, and the conclusion of the campaign in Khartoum State, which contributed to the reduction of malaria and dengue.

The Health Promotion Report revealed that the rate of implementation of activities in the targeted states ranged between 89-100%, in addition to the training of health promoters and immunization technicians in some states.

For its part, the supply report explained the disparity in the abundance of epidemic medicines and consumables in the stores of the Supply Fund in the states, as well as those for dengue and cholera fever, as well as the supply of some organizations to a number of states.

The meeting also heard reports from the National Laboratory for Public Health, Quarantine and Malaria, as well as the expanded program on Immunization EPI , which pointed to a campaign against diphtheria in 6 states this month.
