Sudanese Ambassador to Russia Holds Press Conference to Highlight Rapid Support Forces’ Violations and Crimes
Ambassador Mohamed Al-Ghazali Siraj, the Sudanese Ambassador to the Russian Federation, held a press conference this afternoon at the embassy headquarters, with the participation of several Russian media representatives. The purpose of the conference was to highlight the grave violations and horrific crimes committed by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and to inform Russian and international public opinion about them in detail.
At the beginning of the press conference, the Ambassador offered condolences for the martyrs who were treacherously and cold-bloodedly killed in the historic city of El Fasher and throughout the country. He pointed to the horrific human rights violations perpetrated by the terrorist militia and its collaborators.
The Ambassador explained the steps taken by the militia before entering El Fasher after a siege that lasted nearly two years, and their preparations to attack the city and systematically kill innocent children, women, and civilians.
During the press conference, the ambassador indicated that the Janjaweed militia had systematically besieged El Fasher, employing all methods of killing and torture, including using starvation as a weapon of war, preventing the entry of food, medicine, and all essential supplies, indiscriminately killing innocent civilians, and repeatedly targeting hospitals, such as the Saudi Hospital in El Fasher. He also cited violations committed in several villages in North Darfur, including rape and murder, using heavy weapons supplied by known regional countries. He emphasized that the militia had received the necessary logistical and military support to launch these treacherous attacks.
The ambassador addressed the critical humanitarian situation in El Fasher since the beginning of the siege, noting the efforts of the government and national institutions to provide necessary facilities for staff of international and national humanitarian organizations. He highlighted the measures taken by relevant authorities, such as visas, customs exemptions, and various permits, to facilitate the delivery of urgent aid to those affected.
The ambassador affirmed that the terrorist militia’s violations have awakened the conscience of every living soul. However, what is most important is designating the militia as a terrorist organization and holding it accountable for all the atrocities committed in El Fasher, the rest of Darfur, and throughout Sudan. He also stressed the need to hold accountable all those who contributed to supplying the militia with money, equipment, and weapons, particularly the United Arab Emirates and the countries that allowed this supply to pass through their territories.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of a purely Sudanese solution, without any external interference or preconditions, that respects Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity.
It is worth noting that during the conference, the embassy presented documented video clips and footage revealing the terrorist violations and atrocities committed against unarmed civilians, filmed by the militia members themselves. At the conclusion of the conference, the ambassador answered several questions from the Russian journalists who participated.
