On World Diabetes Day, Atbara Local Authority Honors Dr. Sidahmed Al-Khatib

The Executive Director of Atbara Local Authority, Mohamed Al-Abbas, stated that the Friends of Diabetes Association in the Nile River State represents a successful model in the field of social services for local communities in the state and Sudan.

During the Friends of Diabetes Association’s celebration of World Diabetes Day in Atbara, he praised the significant efforts of the association’s medical advisor, Dr. Sidahmed Mukhtar Al-Khatib, in serving diabetes patients, describing him as “a dedicated humanitarian whose high moral character is evident in his interactions with patients.”

He added that the Friends of Diabetes Association in the Nile River State is an awareness platform originating from Atbara.

Atbara Local Authority honored Dr. Sidahmed Al-Khatib in recognition of his significant contributions to supporting diabetes patients in the Nile River State. The authority also provided 10 billion Sudanese pounds in support of the association’s projects.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Friends of Diabetes Association, Salah Al-Shoush, reviewed the association’s numerous achievements, including staff training, and confirmed that the association is preparing to offer free screening services through health centers.
