Jaber Meets with Several African Leaders on the Sidelines of the Kinshasa Summit

On the sidelines of the Ninth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Great Lakes Region, held in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa, member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief,
Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, met with several African leaders.

Lieutenant General Jaber discussed with the President of Angola, João Manuel, the future of bilateral relations between Sudan and Angola and ways to develop and strengthen them, in a manner that serves the common interests of the two countries.

Lieutenant General Jaber also expressed the Sudanese government’s appreciation for Angola’s supportive stances towards Sudan in regional and international forums, and its ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

Similarly, Sovereignty Council member Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber briefed Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye on the latest developments in Sudan and the Sudanese government’s serious efforts to defeat the rebellion and address the damage caused by terrorist militia attacks on infrastructure and the looting and pillaging suffered by civilians.

The Sovereignty Council member also met with Tanzanian Vice President Philippe Isdor Mbangu. Their discussion focused on areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
