Integrated Treatment Course for Children Under 5 Years Old Concludes

The National Child Health Program at the Federal Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Patient Relief Fund in Eastern Sudan, supported by UNICEF, concluded the training course for integrated treatment for children under 5 years old at the Patient Relief Fund Hall in Eastern Sudan. This course is part of the Life-Saving Health and Nutrition Interventions Project (SHARE), targeting medical assistants in the Hamshkoreb locality.
The representative of the program, Dr. Israa Khalil, described the workshop as distinctive, adding that the SHARE project is an opportunity to raise the rate of application of the integrated treatment protocol for children under 5 years old, thus reducing the morbidity and mortality rates among these groups.
Dr. Zuhair Suleiman from UNICEF announced the training of other categories of cadres in order to generalize the strategy of integrated treatment and to increase the benefit, pointing out that the training will be followed by supportive supervision to ensure its application on the ground, along with the flow of supply and its delivery to the centers. “We confirm the continuation of support in coordination with partners,” he added.
The Director of Programs at the Patient Assistance Fund, Mubarak Al-Sharif, confirmed the success of the training through good results as a result of the efforts of trainers and trainees, and we will follow up on it with supervisory visits to ensure its application. The Director of Child Health at the Ministry of Health in Kassala State, Ibtisam Ali Ahmed, praised the role of those in charge of the course, represented by the federal program, and the support from the Fund and UNICEF, noting that the training has been generalized to include all cadres in the state.
The director of the course, Dr. Amal Abdullah, revealed that the course was 95.5% successful, and aims to raise the efficiency of coverage of child health services in the locality of Hamshkoryb, which lasted for seven days.
