Cabinet Issues Statement Supporting the Speech and Positions of Head of the Sovereignty Council

In its emergency meeting today, chaired by Dr. Kamil Idris, the Cabinet issued a statement commending the efforts of His Excellency Head of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, and affirming the Council’s support for his positions, which uphold the rights of Sudanese citizens to defend their land and honor.

Statement Text

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

God Almighty says: “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for justice, witnesses for God, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, God is more worthy of both. So do not follow [personal] inclination, lest you deviate [from justice]. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed God is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.”

Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

The Council of Ministers appreciates the efforts of His Excellency Head of the Sovereignty Council for his strong and noble national stances in preserving the unity, cohesion, and dignity of the country, and announces its support for the speech of His Excellency Head of the Sovereignty Council and his positions that fulfill the rights of the Sudanese people. In defense of land and honor.

The Council welcomes the earnest efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his generous initiative, which we hope will achieve security and stability in Sudan.

The Council welcomes the positions of sisterly and friendly countries that support the sovereignty and unity of Sudan.

The Council of Ministers affirms the Sudanese government and its leadership’s commitment to achieving peace in the country, in accordance with the roadmap submitted by the Sudanese government to the United Nations and regional and international organizations, and extends its hand in peace to all those concerned with achieving peace, security, stability, and the sovereignty and unity of Sudan.
