Al-Burhan receives Auditor General 

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, met today with Mr. Salah al-Din Muhammad Othman, the Auditor General of the Republic of Sudan.

They discussed ways to overcome all difficulties facing the work and important tasks of the Auditor General’s Office, as well as matters related to financial auditing, to facilitate the Office’s work, ensure accuracy, and guarantee its independence.

The Auditor General stated that he briefed Head of the Sovereignty Council on the Office’s performance and the financial reports of various state institutions, according to the 2024 Financial Report for Executive Government Units.

Therefore, the accounts of 398 government units and 18 banks were audited, in addition to companies and government units in the United States.

Mr. Salah al-Din noted that the outstanding performance is improving significantly in terms of profitability despite the difficult circumstances in the country, pointing out that the accounts of a number of Sudanese embassies abroad were also audited, expressing his continued commitment to the Audit Bureau despite the challenges facing the country.

The Auditor General briefed the Head of the Council on the outcomes of the 25th International Conference of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI 25), held in Sharm El Sheikh.

The Auditor General added that the Head of the Sovereignty Council promised to establish a team of prominent leaders within the Audit Bureau and to improve its performance. He emphasized the Bureau’s complete independence.
