67 companies compete in the first post-war electronic tender for the supply of medical products

In a step that is considered an achievement and a feature of a real beginning of the recovery and reconstruction phase, the National Fund for Medical Supplies succeeded in implementing the first electronic tender after the war, under these exceptional circumstances. On Thursday, an open tender box for the supply of medicines, medical products, and consumables was closed and opened in the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Free Treatment Department at the Ministry of Health, the National Council for Drugs and Poisons, in addition to the tender committee and the financial and legal sectors of the National Fund for Medical Supplies.
The tender witnessed competition from 67 out of a total of 99 companies that withdrew the tender booklet, a clear indication of the gradual return of confidence in the work environment and the willingness of the private sector to participate in the recovery efforts.
Addressing the bid sorting events, the Federal Minister of Health described the event as one of the stages of recovery and sends a clear message that the country is moving towards the better. He stressed that the past phase witnessed cohesion between the various sectors of the state at the federal level, which contributed to maintaining the continuity of the health system, appreciating the great role of health partners, especially pharmaceutical companies in the private sector, for the support and facilities they provided as a national duty towards their people and country.
For his part, the Director General of the National Fund for Medical Supplies, Dr. Badreddine Mohamed Ahmed Al-Jazouli, explained that this achievement came as a result of intensive efforts of the Fund’s employees, who worked with dedication and sincerity in very complex circumstances. He thanked the members of the tender committee, which represents the government institutions that are partners in this process, considering that the implementation of this tender represents a real step towards recovery, the return of supply systems and the stability of the country.
Al-Jazouli pointed out that the implementation of the official tender procedures is not only a return to institutional work, but also represents a strengthening of the Fund’s strategic role in achieving national pharmaceutical security, promoting the principles of transparency, and expanding the circle of participation for all partners, despite the challenges and destruction that has affected many institutions.
