Minnawi: What the criminal Kushayb did is unacceptable, and justice never dies

On his Facebook page, Commander Minni Arko Minnawi, Governor of Darfur and Chairman of the Sudanese Liberation Army Movement, wrote the following:

“Wherever justice exists, we stand behind it and support it with all our strength and steadfastness.

The atrocities, war crimes, and crimes against humanity committed by the criminal Ali Kushayb cannot be accepted by reason or logic.

He committed the most heinous crimes and massacres in the areas of Deleig, Kara Jidad, Wadi Saleh, Garsila, Mukjar, El Geneina, Zalingei, Surra Bandsi, and other cities and villages in Darfur that suffered the scourge of genocide, violence, and destruction.

This international condemnation represents a great victory for the victims who perished under the weight of enforced disappearance, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement.

It is a victory for the orphans who lost their fathers, for the bereaved widows, and for the elderly who were burned inside their homes and mosques.

It is a victory for the grieving mother whose husband and six of her children were killed in front of her eyes and victory for the people of the village of Deleij, from whom more than sixty-eight innocent souls were exterminated for no crime other than their belonging to this land.

This condemnation is a response to the oppressed and a voice for the displaced, refugees, raped and homeless, and a message to the entire world that justice does not die no matter how long it takes.”
