Minnawi discusses with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany the harsh conditions in Darfur

Darfur Governor Commander Minni Arko Minnawi met with Mrs. Sarab_Guler, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, who is in a field visit to refugee camps in eastern Chad and displacement camps in the region.

After the meeting Commander Minnawi post the following on his Facebook page:

“In light of the harsh conditions experienced by our people in Darfur, and out of keenness to find urgent solutions to alleviate their suffering, I met today with Mrs. Sarab_Guler, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, who is conducting a field visit to refugee camps in eastern Chad and displacement camps in the region to assess the humanitarian situation. During the meeting, we discussed the tragic situation in the besieged city of El Fasher and the difficult humanitarian challenges facing the displaced and refugees, especially in the camps in eastern Chad.

We also discussed ways to enhance international and relief support to alleviate the suffering of the citizens besieged by the RSF rebel militia.

Ms. Guler expressed her great appreciation for the steadfastness of the people of Darfur and affirmed Germany’s commitment to standing by the Sudanese people and supporting humanitarian and relief efforts at this critical stage.

For my part, I appreciate the noble humanitarian stance of the German government and renew my call to the international community to unify efforts and work together to save lives and alleviate the suffering of our people in Darfur and eastern Chad. Despite everything, our heroes in the city of The besieged people of El Fasher will remain a symbol of patience and strength, and our will will remain stronger than adversity.
