Minister of Higher Education Meets Turkish Ambassador

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Fatih Yildiz, and his accompanying delegation at his temporary office in Port Sudan to discuss the prospects of joint cooperation between Sudan and Turkey in the fields of higher education and scientific research, as well as ways to develop relations in the interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Mudawi stressed the strength of Sudanese-Turkish relations, praising the role played by Turkey in supporting Sudan in various fields, especially in the higher education and scientific research sector.
Mudawi reviewed the extent of the destruction inflicted on higher education and scientific research institutions as a result of the attacks by the Rapid Support Militia, pointing to the great challenges facing the resumption of the educational process in the country, and called for the strengthening of academic and scientific cooperation between Sudanese and Turkish universities, and Turkey’s contribution to the efforts to reconstruct and rehabilitate higher education institutions to ensure the continuity of the educational and research process in Sudan.
Turkish Ambassador to Sudan Fatih Yildiz expressed his country’s full solidarity with Sudan, stressing Turkey’s readiness to support reconstruction plans, enhance academic cooperation, and expand opportunities for scientific and student exchange between the two countries.
It is worth noting that this meeting comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to strengthen its international partnerships, attract technical and scientific support to rebuild educational and research institutions after the devastation left by the war, and ensure the continuation of the educational process in the country.
