Kamil Idris meets Afwerki

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki held a meeting at the Presidential Palace with a Sudanese delegation headed by Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris.
Extensive discussions took place on strengthening bilateral relations, efforts to resolve the conflict in Sudan, and other regional and international issues of mutual interest, according to Eritrean government media.
During the meeting, afternoon, President Isaias affirmed that Eritrea’s position on vital issues related to Sudan is firm and principled, and is based on its unwavering support for Sudan’s unity and dignity.
President Isaias added that Eritrea will continue its role in the ongoing efforts to find a permanent solution to the conflict in Sudan.
For his part, Prime Minister Kamil Idris conveyed a message of good wishes from Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, Head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, to President Isaias Afwerki, in addition to the greetings and gratitude of the entire Sudanese people.
Prime Minister Kamil praised “the courageous stance of the Eritrean government and people at this critical stage, when the Sudanese people are going through difficult times due to an imposed war.”
Kamil emphasized that “Eritrea’s historic and inspiring stance stems from its deeply-rooted values.”
The Sudanese Prime Minister arrived in the country this morning and was received by Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a number of Eritrean officials and the Sudanese delegation in Eritrea.
