In an emergency meeting , the Ministry of Health discusses the arrangements for the displaced people from El Fasher

An emergency meeting was held at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Health in Khartoum, Port Sudan, to arrange for the reception of displaced people from the cities of El Fasher and Bara, who were forced to leave their areas due to the violations committed by the terrorist Janjaweed Rapid Support Militias.

The meeting was chaired by the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker, in the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Darfur Region, Mr. Babiker Hamdeen, along with the Directors General of the Ministries of Health in the States of River Nile, North Kordofan, Gezira, Gedaref, and White Nile.

The meeting discussed urgent arrangements to receive the IDPs from El Fasher and Bara, after they moved to safe neighboring states, following the violations that affected civilians and medical staff who were providing services through the takaya and community centers.

The Federal Minister of Health affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to provide full federal support to the receiving states for the IDPs, and to support their health plans, stressing the importance of providing accurate information, coordinating with the relevant authorities to implement the response plan, and communicating with the supporting authorities to ensure the provision of the necessary health services.

The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babiker, pointed out the need for urgent intervention and support to the states that received the IDPs.
