El Fasher Kila Initiative in Meroe City held an important meeting participated by Darfur Regional Government representative
A successful meeting of El Fasher Kila Initiative was held this afternoon, Tuesday, October 14, in the office of the Executive Director of Meroe Locality. Thirteen members from various Meroe districts attended the meeting.
At the beginning, the attendees welcomed the Political Advisor, Dr. Abdel Wahab Hemmat, and the accompanying delegation, including Mr. Murtada Omar and Mr. Musa Mohamed Ahmed. They announced that they had entrusted the initiative to the Executive Director to formalize it, and that they had contacted the leadership of the 19th Military Division.
They expressed their full readiness to contribute and participate, considering that El Fasher issue is the issue of all of Sudan and its people, with no distinction between the citizens of the north and the citizens of El Fasher, and that Sudan is for all.
The attendees explained that the current date harvest is estimated at approximately 25 tons, and that in the coming days, after the harvest is complete, the number is expected to reach 100 tons, noting that some areas have not yet completed the harvest. With the Nile and palm trees God has bestowed upon them, they will spare no effort in delivering dates to every hungry person in Sudan. This is a humanitarian and national issue first and foremost.
The meeting commended the orphaned child, Ibrahim Ayman Ibrahim, from the Zoma region, who worked for two days and bought a bag of dates with his harvest, sharing it with his family in El Fasher as humanitarian support from a 10-year-old child.
Among those in attendance was Mr. Orwa Abdel Fattah, the initiator of the initiative, who announced that they would not stop, demanding that the relevant authorities facilitate the airdrop process with the necessary speed, especially as hunger is killing innocents, to alleviate the plight of our people in El Fasher.
The advisor and his companions, who conveyed the voice of Governor Minni Arko Minnawi’s thanks to all the people of the north for this honorable stance, explained that a high-level committee has been formed in Port Sudan to lift the siege on El Fasher. They will visit the Northern State for follow-up and meet with officials in the coming days.
Mr. Khalid Al-Basha, who played a key role in the initiative’s media reach, was also present. Attendees drew attention to the absence of Darfuri youth present in Meroe from the initiative. The advisor and his entourage will also tour several cities and villages to help collect citizens’ donations.
